Here’s an online service I would like to see, which I’ll explain by way of example:
I live near Rochester, NY, and I plan to drive to Boston, MA. These cities are about 400 miles apart and would normally take about 7 hours to drive, assuming no stops. However, based on my previous travel, I know that I will stop twice for gas or food or rest area breaks. Also, it is now late November and I’ll be passing through many different weather systems, with lake effect snow always possible near Syracuse, NY.
Given all that, give me a full plan for my trip, taking into account and letting me know the weather I am likely to hit while I’m en route. Also let me know when the sun will set. Let’s make all this interactive, say on a 3G/4G-enabled tablet, and add traffic conditions as well.
Note however, I don’t just want this on my GPS, I need trip planning before I leave so that I can possibly take an alternate route to avoid bad weather.
Anyone see anything like that out there?

Bob, there are some phone tools in China to provide weather information within about 5 days, for example, http://www.mojichina.com. But it makes sense to integration the weather information with travel plan tools. Maybe it’ll be interesting to provide A&O capacity based on all of the information before/during/after travel.
