Linux Foundation Statement

Jim Zemlin, Executive Director of the Linux Foundation, has just issued the “Linux Foundation Statement on IBM IT Standards Policy.” He concludes with

Like IBM, the Foundation is working for similar goals. Accordingly, the Foundation calls upon others to support the principles laid out in the IBM announcement, and make common cause with this worthwhile effort.

I’m happy to discuss the Standards Principles with anyone who might like to join in on the effort to increase openness, transparency, accountability, and intellectual property certainty in standards setting.
