The Linux Foundation Announces Second Annual End User Summit

The Summit will take place November 9-10, 2009 at the Hyatt Jersey City on the Hudson and will provide end users and kernel developers a direct connection to one another for advancing the features most critical to using Linux in the enterprise. Located just off the Exchange Place Path Station, corporate Linux users from financial services, healthcare, energy, and government will have quick access to the event from east coast hubs.

The beautiful thing about these iPhone apps, however, is that even when it comes to the pros, it doesn’t matter. What guitar player doesn’t spend hours noodling until the moment inspiration strikes? Hardly an inspiration deterrent, the iPhone is actually just the opposite; it might not make for optimal musicality, but it opens up the possibility for one’s muse to come calling in pretty much any setting.

Wednesday was “Born To Run” night at Giants Stadium, with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band playing the entire landmark album, in order. … Springsteen played 29 songs, staying onstage for more than three hours and ten minutes. “Born To Run” has eight songs, and takes less than an hour to play. Even without “Born To Run,” this concert would have been longer than most rock headliners’ sets.

Bob Dylan’s Christmas Album Goes Straight to the Bank

Bob Dylan, he of occasional faith, announced recently that he’d be releasing a holiday album, Christmas in the Heart, on Oct. 13. And like the best of Christmas miracles, the record will benefit those less fortunate, as proceeds will be donated to Feeding America. But unlike most Christmas miracles, Bob Dylan’s 47th album will shine its light on special members of Citibank before the rest of us.
