Someone asked me about this this morning, so I thought I would post the answer here. The question was “How do I download the podcasts so that I can listen to them later”. The general information applies to all my podcasts, but I’ll focus on the four in the “Open Standards vs. Open Source Series” series.
The basic trick it to find a link to a podcast, right click on it and then choose one of the options to save or download it. For Firefox, this will be “Save link as…”. For Opera and Internet Explorer, it will be “Save target as…”. Put the file wherever you keep your downloads. They are all mp3 files, so can play it later using any number of applications.
The full text for the “Open Standards vs. Open Source” series is here. There are also links to the podcasts for each section. For convenience, here are the links to the podcasts with some other information about them.
